Photoshoot Ideas / Other News

That's right, we're not done with you! After you vote for the song you think we should shoot a music video to (below), send us your idea for a photoshoot. Whether it be in a comment on this blog, or a comment on our myspace page, we'd love to hear your idea.

In other news: We've been rehearsing intensely for the past few weeks, and we are really looking forward to the show at the Knitting Factory on July 24, and the show at the OC Fair on July 26. We hope to see you at one of the shows (or both of them), and whichever one it is, it's going to be amazing! Expect a totally different set. That's right, for the first time in months, we're going to be playing with a completely different set list, filled with a bunch of new songs, plus the songs you love off our "A Work In Progress" EP. Make sure to get down to the shows next week!

If you have anymore questions, shoot us a comment at myspace.com/theblackout101

Hahaha, if you want a good laugh, check out this video from two years ago.

No, this isn't Blackout, obviously, but you can see Skyler playing guitar on the far left.

New Songs...

We've been writing and recording new songs for a while now, and lately, they've been sounding really good! We're really excited for the new songs, and for you to hear them! Make sure to come see us at the Knitting Factory on July 24th in Hollywood. We're going to be playing a bunch of new songs, and we wanna know what works, and what doesn't work. Hope you had a great 4th of July and are still having a great summer.

Oh yeah... here's a stupid video about what happens when you stay up all night...

George's Warped Tour Experience

Well, my day at warped obviously wasn't as cool as Chris's, but I'll still tell you about it. I picked up out good friend Trent and then we paid 5 bucks to get to the front of the line. Deal of the century! Then I saw Dear and the Headlights. They're a great band but I have no clue WHY they would play warped. They're like Against Me! meets Conor Oberst. WEIRD. Then I checked out Bayside with Ryan from Countless Hours and then got caught in the Anti-Flag pit, $1000 camera and all (thank god its all alright). Pretty fun tho. I've been waiting to see them for three years. Not much else. Bad religion is the best punk band in history, and the power got cut for an entire song. That was fun to watch. OH! And the Ataris got fat and bald.

Seacrest out!

Last Few Days

I can't even begin to describe how amazing the last few days were... So I won't write too much and keep it simple. Warped tour was in Pamona on Friday and in Ventura, today. Both days were absolutely amazing! I got to meet a bunch of guys in the bands at Warped, plus an incredible, random as balls run in with Mark Hoppus. MARK HOPPUS! The reason I started playing in the first place (Incase you didn't know). I met him randomly while driving down sunset with Bruno on our way to Warped. We saw him and stopped the car to say hello, and had apparently won free blink tickets because of some contest. Who knew!? Anyways... here are some pictures.

Have you ever refurbished a toilet?

As of today, I have!! Long story tho (and really not as funny as you think it would be) so if you actually care about further details, perhaps you should leave me a wall post on facebook. That's right, facebook has URLs now! The nuclear arms race for social networking power has begun! Do you know much about the cold war? If not, you probably wouldn't understand that.

Anyways. My grandma had a stroke last weekend so if you're wondering where I am/what I've been up to I've been in Michigan the past week visiting her and I'm flying home for 10 days tomorrow before I'm off to New York University for an intense month of photographic awesomeness!!!

Peace out, RIP MJ

R.I.P MJ

As I'm sure you already know, today, June 25, 2009, Michael Jackson died from Cardiac Arrest.

You can read more about it here:

Rest In Peace, Jacko.

Douche Clark: Reppin' since 1985

So right now I'm half way across the country visiting my grandparents in Michigan. I went to do some work for my grandpa today and I stumbled across this little gem. Seems like our friend Douche Clark has been here since long before any of us were born!

Prison Tycoon

So I'm sitting here in Michigan, its 4:30 AM, and for some reason, I fell asleep at 5 today. Weird right? Thats like...2:00 my time. So needless to say, I've been tired lately. But now, I'm up! I got this sweet iPhone game called prison tycoon. Check it out! Its been keeping my occupied for the last 3 hours. In the mean time, check out this video of our new song What Is Me from the Knitting Factory show on Sunday. Props to Trent for the video!

I'm Speechless

I sat on my computer for five minutes thinking of what to say about this next video... Then I realized that sitting on my computer wasn't a very good idea and I was probably damaging the hard drive. I got off my computer and sat in front of it and the thinking commenced once again. Still nothing. There's not much I can say about this video except, "Wtf, mate?"

If you can't handle the whole thing in one sitting (I can empathize... well... okay, fine... sympathize...), just watch the first twenty seconds, then fast forward to 2:45 seconds. Prepare to lawl.

If you liked that... YOU, GOOD SIR, ARE A LIAR!

-Chris

ya know...

I could be amazingly unorginal, and blog about the intense Perez Hilton vs. Will-I-Am dillema... but instead, I feel the need to blog about THIS

Watch the whole thing.. the best part is at the very end!

Okay, I know, I lied. Nothing good happens at the end, I'm an ass.

La La Land

Haha, so I'm following Demi Lovato on twitter, and she posted a twit saying she'd love to hear a hard core version of one of her songs. Me and Skyler looked at each other and thought, "Shit, there's nothing better to do." And thus, our hardcore cover of Demi Lovato's song "La La Land" was born. Go listen to it on our myspace page at myspace.com/theblackout101

Shit's intense, I must warn you.

Dancing Man of BuFest

I found this video on Youtube and decided to throw it on here because I totally remember this guy, haha. I was actually going to film his intense dances, but I couldn't find my camera (Which I later learned was in my back pocket... FAIL)

Anyways, enjoy!

BuFest

Here's a video from the show we played at BuFest on Sunday. Man, that was an odd festival! To rent out that space (Paramount Ranch) for two days, plus advertisements on radio and etc. in relation to the number of people in attendance...it most of cost somebody a fortune to put that thing on! Haha. Anyways, we had a lot of fun, got to see MxPx and Unwritten Law (We weren't able to catch Reel Big Fish :[ ) and afterwards, we went to islands. I got myself some badass, Jr Tiki Tenders. Amen, brotha.

Today we had Drive A band practice for the first time in a long time and it was weird to be back, haha. We're flying out to Dallas in two weeks to play a private event and then we hit the road again with Set Your Goals and Four Year Strong at the very end of July. That's a long ways away, and as much as I'm looking forward to it... I'm stoked to be back at home, haha.

Peace,
Chris

More Videos From The Canyon Club!

Man, that show was fun. Here are some more videos, taken by our photographer and friend, Trent Siggard.

I'm working on compiling some footage into a movie for YouTube today. Not sure when that'll go up, but you'll be the first to know if you're following me on twitter. Oh yeah, yesterday at BuFest I stumbled upon this tent, giving away free chapstick called "Shaka Laka Lip Blaka". It tastes awesome, plus it's SPF15 haha. Check it out!

Canyon Club Last Night!

The show was so amazing! Thanks to everyone who came out last night to watch all the great bands and support the girl of the night, Taylor Messina. My best wishes are with Taylor and her family.

The show started out with a really cool band called The Record Life, then after them, we got to play. It was one of the most fun shows we've ever played. Jetstream played a great set, and so did Fallbrooke. All in all, it was an awesome night and I'm super excited to play more shows at home. Touring's nice, but home shows are always the best. We're playing tomorrow at BuFest, so I'm looking forward to that. Here's the first video I've seen on YouTube of last night. Check it out. I'll post more videos later.

UK Tour Was Amazing!

Man, this past week has been amazing. So many amazing shows, plus good times with buds. I'm really sad we have to leave now, but at the same time, I'm stoked to get back home, work on new songs, hang out with my friends (who I haven't seen in months!), and play out show at the Canyon Club on Friday with Jetstream! I hope to see you all there, and I'm looking forward to it. The show's gonna be off the hook!

Check out this picture of Aaron Burch (Of The Good Cheer), Skyler, and I chillin' onstage at the Cavern Club right after our show (Circa 1:30 A.M.)

Little Big Planet

The title has a double meaning today.... It represents the fact that I've been to so many places in such a short period of time after touring for the past two months, and I love it! But... most importantly, it represents the TOTALLY bad ass game on PS3 that we found in the apartment we're staying at here in Liverpool. Skyler and I have a really bad habit about not sleeping at night sometimes, and last night was definitely one of those nights.... And of course, we were playing Little Big Planet for the vast majority of it. Anyways, today is our third day in England, and we've played some cool shows and seen a lot of cool things you don't get to see in America (such as my favorite, driving on the left side of the road, haha). Just incase you didn't know yet, I'm amazingly stoked on the new Green Day record, and I'm really to see them in concert this summer. Shit's gon' be off the chain. Well, it was nice talking to you. This video always seems to brighten my day just a little bit. Hopefully it does the same for you.

Peace,
Chris

The Breakdown is Here!

As you know, Green Day's new album "21st Century Breakdown" came out yesterday, May 15th. Unfortunately, we couldn't find a Best Buy/Target on the drive to Cleveland, so we had to wait until today to get the CD. We stopped at Best Buy this morning; Jason, Bruno, and I each got our own copy of the CD and the band just finished listening to it in the van. Verdict = Holy Hell... I never thought they could step out of the shadow of American Idiot, but they did it! This is probably my new favorite Green Day album of their entire career, a bold statement to make, if you ask me. I'm not going to lie, even after I heard the first single, "Know Your Enemy", I was a bit skeptical, but don't let that song fool you. Tracks to ESPECIALLY look for (If you're a lame-o that's not gonna get the whole CD) In order of appearance: ¡Viva La Gloria!, Last Night on Earth, East Jesus Nowhere, Peace Maker, and... Nah, screw that, make sure you listen to the ENTIRE Album. P.S. In Act Two, "Charlatans and Saints", they're bringing back some of the really cool elements of Warning, such as they new, and revamped gypsy rock style, as I've dubbed it.

Los Angeles is Calling...

Tour has been great, BUT... I'm very excited to come home for two days. I have a few songs ready to demo at my "homestudio", plus, crazy band rehearsal with Blackout before we hit the... sky... and fly over to England for our small stint in the UK. It kinda would've made more sense if this blog was titled "London Calling", but I feel like I've heard that before somewhere? Haha.

New Blackout 101 Stuff to Check Out

¡Hola! It's 6:30 A.M. in Atlanta, Georgia and I'm still awake due to excitement. Sky and I have been having long talks about what comes next with Blackout 101 and it's going to be a lot of fun. Needless to say, I'm stoked. Anyways, to hold you over until then we've made some changes to our websites such as Blackout101.com/Facebook/Purevolume/ and most notably, our myspace page (Myspace.com/TheBlackout101). I spent three whole consecutive hours on the layout so I really hope you all enjoy it, haha. I think it looks rad, I hope you do too. I've been writing new songs for Blackout while out on the road with Drive A and I can't wait to get home and start recording them with Skyler. We leave for liverpool in 6 days! Wow, that's going to be incredible. I'm shaking just thinking about it.

Peace,
Chris

Edgefest/Are You Blind/Loss of Desire

Hey everyone! Edgefest yesterday was amazing. We played in front of thousands of people and it was one of the most fun shows we've ever played. It was also really great being able to watch some awesome bands such as Taking Back Sunday, The Used, Anberlin, Papa Roach etc. Thanks to everyone that came out, we had a blast! Anyways, as you may know, you can now pre-order "Loss of Desire" on iTunes now for only $6.99. If you pre-order the album, you won't find it in your actual iTunes library until May 19th. You can also purchase our first single "Are You Blind" on iTunes for $0.99. Go check that all out and have a rad day!

Peace,
Chris

Back in motion

We're back into the Alkaline Trio tour! These shows have been a lot of fun! One of the things about these shows that are much different than the shows with Red Jumpsuit and Secondhand is the fact that all the Trio fans are totally die-hard and they really know their shit! They're hard to impress, but when you impress 'em, they really let you know. I've met tons of awesome people, and that's always cool, right? Haha. Today we played at a REALLY cool venue called The Norva in Norfolk, VA. They had an awesome room for the bands which includes a pool table, foosball, and a huge tv. There's also a basketball court and a hot top/sauna. Incredible, right? I'm really stoked on two awesome CDs that came out yesterday: "Grey Britain" from Gallows, and "Attics to Eden" from Madina Lake. If you haven't yet, go check it out!

Peace,
Chris

I Feel Like a New York Local

Pretty much every day off that we've had this past week has been in New York/New Jersey. Haha, I can't complain because it's been awesome, but I'm finally glad to get out of here and hit the road again with Alkaline Trio. Tomorrow will be our third show with the band and it's taking place in Amish Country: Lancaster, PA. Haha, I'm very excited for the show and I look forward to meeting a whole bunch of new people. Today was rad. I woke up around 10:45 and left for the city with 5/7 of Drive A Tour Camp. No one could agree on one restaurant to eat at so lunch was divided between three restaurants (one being my new favorite "Red Bamboo"). If you live in New York, make sure to hit that place up. I think it's at 140th and West 4th ST... but look it up just to be sure. After that we hit up the still open Virgin Megastore in Manhattan (unfortunately, not the one that used to be in Times Square) and I got "I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love", by My Chemical Romance. Those guys are quickly inching their way up to being one of my favorite bands. We also went to this awesome restaurant called Jeckyll and Hyde, which is kind of like a super-rad/haunted version of rainforest cafe. I recommend, even though I didn't get any food. It's THAT bad ass. We finished up the day by walking around Times Square, and we went to the awesome Hershey Store. That shit's awesome. Since it's 12:40 A.M., it's Cinco de Mayo, and more importantly, two great records that I know of are coming out. "Grey Britain" by Gallows is amazing; you gotta check that out, and "Attics to Eden" is awesome as well. There you have it: I'm out.

Take care now,
Chris

I'm Bamboozled

Today was an amazing day! I woke up around 1:00 P.M. Eastern Time haha, took a shower, got dressed, and then took a shuttle from our hotel to Bamboozle. I saw one of my favorite bands, Billy Talent (I also met the guitarist, Ian D'sa, at our hotel after the concert) and they put on an amazing show. Jason and I stocked up on Kazoozles and did a couple of interviews with some really cool people. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the fact that it was raining the whole day, haha. All the bands were great and it was a lot of fun meeting people and checking out all the cool booths and whatnot, plus we had a rad show, haha. I'd been extremely excited about Bamboozle for about two months, and it was nothing short of amazing. I'd love to sit here and write more, but quite frankly, I'm Bamboozled, haha. Whoah, random note: I'm in the hotel right now watching a documentary on TLC about these siamese twins connected at the pelvis. Now THAT's gnarly.

P.S. Regarding the aforementioned secret tour... As you may know, we just finished up our tour with The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Secondhand Serenade; and after a few days of hanging out in New York, we started up our tour with Alkaline Trio two days ago in Baltimore. Since then, we've only played one more show in New Haven, CT and now we're back in New Jersey with another day off tomorrow. Of course, I'll be heading over to NYC haha. That is all.

Peace,
Chris

Short break in NYC / NEW TOUR TBA!

¡Hola! Today was very nice. We drove from Oswego, NY to New York, NY. We watched "Fight Club" in the van; man! That movie was awesome/crazy/confusing! It was difficult to really process exactly what was happening at all times but I was all good by the end, haha. Jared Leto (singer of 30 Seconds To Mars) looks so weird in that movie. We wrapped up the drive at our hotel in New Jersey right outside of Manhattan and we chilled here for a little bit. We then took the subway over to the city and popped Terry's New York cherry. He was really excited to be here for the first time. We walked around the city, got some food, and Bruno and I bought CD's. He got the new Silversun Pickups record and I got "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge" by My Chemical Romance. I actually just finished listening to it and it's awesome! I've been listening to Black Parade nonstop this tour and I needed to finally get the sophmore record. I'm backtracking... next is the first album. Today was a great day overall and I saw the naked cowboy (as disturbing as it was) for the first time, haha.

Amazing way to end the tour.

Tonight's show in Oswego, New York was awesome! We played with Madina Lake, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Secondhand Serenade, and N.E.R.D. The latter was a weird addition to the show, but it was fun to watch. They actually invited some of the crowd onstage and it was a good time. Madina Lake was incredible, as always. If you haven't checked them out yet, make sure you do so! Myspace.com/MadinaLake. They're on a plane right now flying over to London to headline a small UK tour and they're on the cover of Kerrang! Magazine. Best of luck to those guys and we need to play with them again! We shared a dressing room with them today so we all got to talk and have fun. Red Jumpsuit Apparatus... We love you guys so much! Awesome band, and awesome dudes! After the show, they invited us to party on the bus and I DJd haha, it was awesome and my playlist included: Achey Breaky Heart, One Week, Panama, ABC, Do ya think I'm sexy, and all the other greats. Secondhand Serenade are rad dudes and we had a great time playing with 'em, even though we didn't get to spend as much time with them as we did with RJA. They're bassist, Harvey, is the man! It was a great tour, and we'll see you guys on the road very soon!

Chaotic Times

Geeze! These past few days have been rather chaotic. First off, the day we left chicago, I lost one of my blue era vans. Haha, I looked all over the room for that missing shoe and it set us back 45 minutes on the road which caused us to be late to the gig that night but it wasn't that big of a deal. The aforementioned show in Akron, Ohio was pretty cool, but lame at the same time. It took place at this big college auditorium and the guy working the monitors was a really grumpy/life-loathing version of Santa Claus and the house lights were on the entire set! If you've ever been to a concert, you probably know that usually the room is dark with lights shining on the stage... well, somewhere along the line, some moron screwed up and we played to a completely lit up room, which is incredibly awkward when you're onstage... Haha, I actually had my back turned to the audience at all times in between songs and for "Can't Sleep It Off". The next day we had off, that was awesome! We got to sleep in 'till noon and then spend the rest of the day hanging out in Cleveland. It's a really cool city! We got to visit the Alternative Press Magazine headquarters and we saw a bunch of really cool stuff. I also received a cool AP shirt and an early version of the magazine coming out on May 5 with Taking Back Sunday on the cover. Score! Yesterday was a complete mess! We drove the five hours to (Insert City Name), Pennsylvania and as soon as we got to the venue, the sound guy told a lady holding a clipboard "See, I knew they'd show up even though they're not on the list". This confused me. Soon after, we found out that there was a huge mixup and we wouldn't be playing the show due to insurance reasons... They didn't have any sort of reassurance that we wouldn't sue incase somebody got hurt, which we wouldn't do, but the college would rather be safe than sorry... which really sucks for us! It was painful watching Madina Lake go on because there were so many people there and the crowd just went off! It was awesome at the same time though, because Madina Lake are incredible to watch live. Today was another day off which we spent driving and the duration of the day in Oswego, New York. The day was fine, we went swimming in the hotel pool and bowling at an alley nearby. I got a big gash in my acoustic guitar today in a freak "Falling-bed" accident... I won't go into details, but it's repairable and my guitar will be in great shape in no time.. Luckily it's still completely playable and sounds perfect.. just some exterior issues haha.

Peace,
Chris/

I'm back again!

I didn't go anywhere this time, I just kept forgetting to write something. Anyways, the last week of tour since we last spoke was awesome. The day I got back we played at The Blue Note in Columbia, MO with The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Madina Lake. It was our first night playing with Madina Lake and so far it's been the only night. Those guys are awesome! I wasn't sure what to expect, but their live show was awesome, plus they have some catchy songs. Red Jumpsuit were finally back (we hadn't seen 'em in a week) and it was great to see those guys again. The next show we played was in Wayne, Nebraska at some college gymnasium. That show was pretty rad, there were a BUNCH of people there, but we had a lot of technical difficulties haha. The show we played at The House of Blues the next night was really awesome. I love that venue so much, and the one in Chicago has probably been one of my favorite so far (alongside Dallas), I had an amazing time and the house was packed with a bunch of awesome people (minus maybe one or two haha). Our show last night was something else haha. Anyways, it's extremely sad that we only have two shows left on this tour, but there will be many more tours to come soon so it's all good. Today we're going to the AP offices in Cleveland.. To do what, I'm not exactly sure, but hey, it's AP, right? Haha.

I'm back!

I just landed here in Saint Louis after seven relatively short hours of travel. My first flight left from Los Angeles at 12:00 A.M. That plane right took me Dallas. When I arrived in Dallas three hours later (I slept the whole way) I got on another plane to Saint Louis which left at 6:00 A.M. (Central Time) and here I am now. The rest of the band is at the hotel in Saint Louis and I'm going to take a shuttle over there shortly. But for a little bit I'm just going to sit here, using my laptop and waiting for my ear to pop. Man, I hate that feeling haha. It was a great two days off back home and I had a lot of fun hanging out with my family and friends again but I'm back on the road now and Drive A is playing in Columbia, Missouri. Here is video update number one:

Day Back Home 1 / Mexican Flavor

Today started at 4:00 AM Eastern time. Man, that was miserable. Woke up, drove to the airport and then got on a plane to dallas from Philadelphia. We then missed our flight from Dallas to Los Angeles and got on a plane an hour later to Burbank, which ended up working out perfectly. On the way home, it was apparent that I should make the best out of my two days back home before I fly out the continue the tour in Missouri, so I called up my best buds, Skyler and Gavin. I picked them up from The Commons on the way home and we reviewed everything that had happened since we last saw eachother (2 weeks ago). After some standard chill time, we made this amazing video, hahaha. If there's one thing I love to do and am amazing at doing, it's making myself look like a jackass in public, my friends are really good at it too. Without further ado, here is the video, "Mexican Flavor"

Detour through the D.C.

Today was an awesome day. We started the day off in Richmond, Virginia and drove all the way to Philadelphia, PA. It was a fairly long drive with harsh weather conditions for the duration... I was lucky enough to sleep in the van for an hour and a half so it's all good, haha. We figured, since it's on the way, why not make a little visit to our nation's capitol, Washington D.C.? We drove around for about twenty minutes and admired the city. I got a picture of the Washington Memorial, as seen above, plus some other pictures. I also got this really awesome vegetarian burrito along the way from this place called "California Tortilla". Anyways, the most important part, the show. Tonight's show was probably my favorite of the bunch. The crowd was great and we had tons of energy on stage. I got to display some new jumps I'd been working on during down time, haha. Everything went according to plan and the show was awesome. It was Safetysuit and The Undeserving's last show on the tour, and I'm gonna miss watching those guys. On the plus side, however, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is coming back for the rest of the tour! I'm excited about that. My family flew into Philadelphia today to watch the show and we wandered around the city together for a while. Since we have two days off now, I'm going to be flying back home tomorrow early in the morning for the next two days in order to spend some time at home and work on things with Blackout 101. I'm flying back out to St. Louis on the 17th so it won't be too long that I'm gone. I'm actually at my parents' hotel room by the airport right now and it's an extremely early wake up call, so I should really be getting some rest right now. Until next time.

Peace,
Chris

Pork Chop Sandwiches

Hey everybody. If you've been to a Drive A show in the past few months and you bought one of the white sampler EP's then you may have noticed some errors once you imported the disc into your computer. We started getting complaints from fans that the disc showed up under the band name "Pork Chop Sandwiches" and the track listing was completely screwed up. We apologize for this! The company we printed the CDs with made a mistake in manufacturing it and there's nothing we can do about it. What I can do is write all the track names on here. I don't have a copy of the CD with me right now and I can't remember the track listing completely. Check back tomorrow for a detailed listing. Also, if you haven't already, check out the Drive A myspace for tour dates and see when we're coming to your town! We have a tour update video hitting YouTube tomorrow so stay tuned for that!

A Relaxing Day Off.....

So today, we finally got a day off from playing shows. It was really nice to sleep in and just chill for one day. We woke up around 12:30 Eastern Time and we all just hung out in the hotel and watched tv/used our computers for a while. Then we played with fireworks for a while; that was a lot of fun haha, unfortunately however, the hotel got mad at us and we had to stop much earlier than we were originally planning to. After that we had Easter/Terry's birthday lunch at TGI Friday's. Haha, Terry ordered a Coor's light with a proud grin on his face. The rest isn't really that important, but what is important is that you (if you aren't already) should follow me on twitter. Twitter.com/chrisblackout check it out. It's time for bed, peace.

Ten In A Row!

Hey everyone. Drive A just finished up ten gigs in a row these past ten days on our tour with Red Jumpsuit Apparatus/Secondhand Serenade, plus our "fly-in-fly-out" stint at Bamboozle Left in Irvine, CA. It's been a hectic ten days, but now we get to sit back and relax and sleep... a LOT. April 12th is Terry's 21st birthday (Happy birthday Terry) plus it's Easter Sunday, it's the perfect time to get a day off. After tomorrow, we head back out on the road to continue on with the tour. We played tonight in Greenvile, South Carolina at what was probably our smallest show, but that didn't stop us from having fun and making sure the audience did as well. Yesterday we played at The House of Blues and that show was sick, as well. It's so nice to finally be on tour and get away from home, but at the same time, you begin to miss home every once in a while. I'm excited to be doing what I'm doing and I'm really looking forward to the rest of this tour and then what comes next after that, and after that. Here's a video that I stumbled upon on YouTube of the song "Everyone's Alone" from our set at House of Blues Cleveland yesterday.

Little did I know how exhausting touring was.

Man, it's been so fun this past week and half on the road... but MAN, it's tiring! Today was our ninth show in a row since April 2. That's pretty crazy. Tomorrow it's going to be ten days in a row, then we have a day off for Easter (and Terry's Birthday falls on the same day as well.) We're the only band on this tour that's doing ten in a row since Red Jumpsuit is taking the week off and while we could have been enjoying some well-earned rest... We flew to LA for Bamboozle Left and then flew directly back. Haha, whenever I'm in doubt, I watch this video.

One week into the April Tour

Drive A is one week into our April Tour with Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Secondhand Serenade and so far it's been a total blast. We see ourselves getting better and better as a band each night and we're having so much fun playing for you guys and hanging out with the other bands. If you were at one of the shows, I hope you had lots of fun... Actually, I'm pretty sure you did haha. I could have posted one of the nightly crowd pics I take at each show, but there's already one up here from Texas so instead I decided to show you guys one of the scrims/banners we have set up on stage. It's a black and white american flag with the anarchy symbol in place of the fifty stars. Tell me that's not badass! Also, I seem to find myself drifting closer and closer to vegetarianism each day. After hearing so much about it from friends and etc. I decided to check out Peta2.com and see what the hype was all about. Each day I find out new fascinating things from the treatment of animals in slaughter houses to the horrible annual canadian seal slaughter. Once I read about the latter, I couldn't stop thinking about it. I'm not making any commitments yet, but once again, I'm becoming more and more open to the idea of becoming a vegetarian as most of the foods I find myself eating nowadays are mostly vegetarian in the first place. I'm not going to shove anything down anyone's throat, because I HATE it when people do that to me, I just figured maybe you'd like to read about this.

Loss of Desire Tour 2009: Day One.

So today is our first day out on the road. It's already been really interesting. We've already managed to get a flat tire, plus there were some hassles with the lights in our trailer back home which would make it illegal to drive without. Today has earned the right to be called "Trailer Day From Hell". However, the ride so far has been really fun. We've been watching Kat Williams DVDs, Mighty Ducks, plus many more movies/TV shows to come. I'm really glad we have a TV in the van. Oh yeah, it came with a PS2 as well, so we're big pimpin' in here. It is our home for the next few months, after all. We're taking video footage so we'll definitely be putting together a rad montage and post it on Youtube every few days or so. Stay posted.

btw, that's jason's hand in the picture, haha.

AP Tour dates this past weekend

The shows we played this weekend were incredible in every sense.
A.) There were a ton of people, and that's always a good mood-setter
B.) We played with a bunch of cool bands such as Gallows, The Maine, and Hit The Lights
C.) We had a great time interacting with the crowd, plus, going on the road and playing shows is always fun.

We had a great time whether we were on stage, hanging out behind the merch booth, or just hanging out in the hotels. Speaking of which, check out this video. We decided it would be funny to disgruntle our sound guy, Stevie, at 3:00 A.M.... Well, just watch the video at YouTube.com/DriveARocks

Leaving today for Texas and SXSW!

Hey everybody. Today is the big day! Drive A is leaving LA to fly over to Texas for the three AP/SXSW dates this weekend. It's going to be so much fun. This is my first time leaving state with Drive A, so you can probably understand just how excited I am, plus, getting the oppurtunity to play with cool bands like The Maine, Gallows, 30h3! and etc... The flight leaves this afternoon and right now it's only 9:00 A.M. so there's still some preparation to be done and then we're heading out. Alright, later guys! Oh yeah, check out the Trikela bike, or at least, that's how I think you spell it. Terry and I took pictures with this thing when we were at the Coffin Case offices, it's rad!

Why Hello There

Well, hello there, ladies and gentlemen. I decided to start up a blog of my own to let you all know what's going on with me in Drive A, Blackout 101, or just what's currently on my mind.
